Several weeks ago, South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics has made official a new series of high-end devices that it would bring to the market with Google's Android operating system on board, and two of those handsets, the LG Optimus 2X and the Optimus Black, are now listed on Amazon Germany's website.

Although they both made an appearance at the retailer, neither LG Optimus 2X nor Optimus Black got a specific release date for the German market, at least not for the time being.

However, Amazon Germany offers info on the handsets' price tag, which seems to have been set at EUR 499, SIM free.

However, we should note that the LG Optimus 2X, which is called Optimus Speed at Amazon Germany, is listed with a EUR 50 price cut included into the mix. The phone's usual cost would be of EUR 549.

As for the LG Optimus Black, it was listed right from the start with a price tag of EUR 499 attached to it, which means that it too might be subject to price cuts soon.

For those who might have not encountered these devices before, we should mention the fact that both of them run under Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, while being capable of delivering a range of specific features to their users.

The Optimus Speed (Optimus 2X) is the first dual-core smartphone in the world, with a Tegra 2 processor inside, clocked in at 1GHz, which can offer 1080p video recording capabilities when coupled with the 8-megapixel photo snapper the phone was packed with.

Optimus Black comes with a new NOVA display, brighter than any other mobile display, is only 9.2mm thin, and packs WiFi Direct connectivity.

Both of them include Bluetooth capabilities, 3.5 mm headphone jack, microSD memory card slot for additional storage space, and can support the new Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

The LG Optimus Speed (Optimus 2X) can be seen at Amazon Germany here, while the LG Optimus Black was listed here. (via Engadget)
