LG Revolution was the third 4G LTE-capable smartphone that Verizon Wireless made available for purchase on its airwaves, and it seems that it might soon receive a successor.

Sporting model number LG VS920, what appears to be the second LG Revolution handset was just spotted at the FCC, supposedly on its way to Verizon Wireless as well.

The mobile phone received the necessary approvals from the Federal Communication Commission with support for the LTE Band 13 that Verizon's network operates on.

Moreover, the mobile phone packs support for global GSM / EDGE and 900 /1900 / 2100 WCDMA and HSPA, which would make it yet another world phone to arrive with Google's Android platform on board on Verizon's network.

The FCC filing does not offer specific info on the relation between the LG VS920 and the LG Revolution smartphone on Verizon's network, but there is a strong possibility that the new device would be launched as the successor of LG's fist LTE Android smartphone.

For example, the original LG Revolution smartphone came to the market with model number LG VS910, and the release of a VS920 model with the same capabilities does show that the two are somehow connected.

Not to mention that a leaked roadmap from Verizon unveiled not too long ago that the wireless carrier was gearing up for the release of Revolution 2, another reason to consider the LTE-capable VS920 the successor of LG Revolution.

Before the end of the ongoing year, Verizon should bring its LTE network to even more markets around the United States, and might indeed have in plan the launch of new 4G-capable smartphones that build on the success of existing devices.

However, nothing is confirmed on this for the time being, and there is always the possibility that Verizon might have different plans with the mobile phone that has just received the necessary FCC blessings.
