More users in the United States should be able to enjoy access to Verizon Wireless' 4G LTE network starting with the middle of the next month, the wireless carrier has just announced.

On September 15th, the wireless carrier's LTE network will arrive in a wider range of markets around the country, and will be expanded in some more.

The announcement follows shortly after the release of LTE in 15 new markets, which brought the advanced connectivity to a number of over 160 million users in the US.

At the moment, Verizon's 4G LTE network offers connectivity in 117 cities, a number that should grow significantly in less than a month from now.

The markets that are expected to have LTE fired up on September 15th would include: Fargo, ND, Moorhead, MN, Rockford, IL, Moline, IL, Rock Island, IL, Bloomington/Normal, IL, Champaign/Urbana, IL, Springfield, IL, Mansfield, OH, Canton, OH, Lima, OH,

Also, the network will reach Iowa City, IA, Davenport, IA, Bettendorf, IA, Blacksburg, VA, Las Cruces, NM, El Paso, TX, Wichita Falls, TX, Austin, TX, Shreveport, LA, Reno, NV, Santa Barbara County, CA, San Luis Obispo County, CA.

In addition, the carrier announced that it planned on expanding the network coverage in some of the areas where the service was already available, so that more users enjoyed access to it.

When made available, the LTE services will come to users on a wide range of devices, including smartphones, models, hotspots and the like.

At the moment, for example, Verizon offers no less than three smartphones with 4G capabilities on board, including the HTC ThunderBold, Samsung DROID Charge, and the LG Revolution.

As soon as next month, users in areas where Verizon's LTE services are available will also be able to purchase the Motorola DROID from their wireless carrier.

Verizon is set to continue this aggressive expansion of LTE in the US, and aims at covering its entire 3G footprint in only a few years.
