South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics has unveiled during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in early January a new handset that would arrive on shelves with Google's Android operating system, the LG Optimus Black, and a video ad for the device is now available for your viewing pleasure.

The handset comes with a 4-inch NOVA touchscreen display that, according to LG, can deliver far more brightness than any other handset on shelves today, while eating only 50 percent of the battery they would do.

The smartphone measures 122 x 64 x 9.2mm and weighs in at only 109g, with the battery included (a 1,500 mAh Battery, LG notes).

This is one of the slimmest handsets on the market at the moment, and the aforementioned video was released in an attempt to rise users' awareness on the design of this device.

“Slim & light body, measuring 6mm at its thinnest point and 9.2mm at its thickest point, the LG Optimus Black weighs 109g and features a seamless uni-window front and an invisible receiver,” the video's description reads.

The LG Optimus Black is set to make an appearance on the European market as soon as this month, while set to arrive in other markets as well in the near future.

56 network carriers in 50 different countries have already pre-ordered Optimus Black units, showing that the world in interested in the new mobile phone.

In addition to the said bright screen, and the slim body, the new mobile phone packs a 1GHz application processor (TIOMAP3), complemented by a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with video recording capabilities, and a 2MP camera on the front.

The handset also sports a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space, as well as Wi-Fi Direct capabilities, Bluetooth connectivity, GPS receiver, and more. The handset would be released in black, with white and pink flavors set to arrive starting with June.
