Korean mobile phone maker LG announced the release of yet another clamshell device aimed at users in the country, namely the LG SV800 / KH8000 / LH8000. The new device, which seems to have been developed mainly for youngsters, comes in three color versions, namely Cutie Pink, Aqua Blue and “Boyish Titanium,” and it is also known under the name of LG Lollipop.

One attractive feature that the new LG Lollipop comes with can be spotted right away, namely the 220 tiny LEDs that have been included on the case of the mobile phone, which allow users to configure them so as to display different patterns, like hearts, animals, cars and many more. There is nothing new about the design of the new LG handset, though the device seems a rather good-looking clamshell.

When it comes to specifications, it looks like the new LG Lollipop comes with a 2.8-inch TFT internal display that is able to provide users with a 240 x 400 pixel resolution. The new mobile phone comes with CDMA and HSDPA connectivity and also includes a music player.

LG has packed the new clamshell with a 3-megapixel photo snapper that also sports auto focus, as well as with a secondary camera of 1.3 megapixels that should allow users to make video calls. In addition, the LG Lollipop also comes with a microSD memory card slot, offering the possibility for additional storage space to be added. The new handset measures 106.5 x 51.5 x 13.4 mm and weighs 92g.

The LG Lollipop is expected to become available in South Korea starting this month, and it should be added to the offerings of all major carriers, including SK Telecom, KTF and LG Telecom. There are no details on a possible availability of the new handset on other markets at the moment.
