Sprint announced today the upcoming availability of the LG Rumor2, the successor of the widely known LG Rumor. The new handset comes with all the features a user who seeks both value and connectivity at all times would need, and it will also be a Sprint exclusive device in the US, just as its predecessor was.

The new mobile phone has to offer a full sliding QWERTY keyboard meant to facilitate the messaging actions, as well as emailing and social networking, while also including Bluetooth connectivity, a 1.3-megapixel camera and a large display. The carrier announced that the new device would become available for its airwaves for $49.99 with a two-year contract agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate.

The full QWERTY keyboard included with the new LG Rumor2 is expected to be a little more user friendly than the one that was seen on the previous device, as it comes with four key rows. The phone's QVGA TFT display can deliver up to 262K colors.

Among the features that the new handset brings we can spot Sprint Navigation, which includes voice and on-screen, turn-by-turn driving directions, as well as Sprint Mobile Email Work (including Microsoft Exchange Server and IBM Lotus Notes). In addition, the phone also sports Stereo Bluetooth, MP3 player, and a MicroSD memory card slot with support for up to16GB.

The new LG Rumor2 also features an additional removable backplate. The phone packs a battery that is able to deliver up to 5.5 hours of talk time, it measures 4.4 x 2.1 x 0.7 inches and weighs 4.23 ounces. It will go on sale online starting March 15, and will come in Black Titanium. On the 29th of March, a new color version of the device, Vibrant Blue, will become available as well. Sprint also announced that customers would be able to get the new device on all of its retail channels starting April 19.
