MetroPCS has just announced a new smartphone that is being added to its series of LTE-capable devices, namely the LG Esteem, and Android-powered smartphone that leaked not too long ago.

The new LG Esteem 4G LTE Android smartphone comes to the market with a nice range of features and capabilities, as well as with a series of music and multimedia applications like Rhapsody Unlimited Music and MetroSTUDIO.

Running under Google's Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system, the new mobile phone sports a sleek design, and can easily prove a great option for all users who are style-conscious.

“LG Esteem is the ideal device for entertainment savvy consumers looking for on-the-go content and the latest Android technology,” said Tim O'Brien, vice president of marketing for LG Mobile.

“Together with the MetroPCS 4GLTE network, LG Esteem provides users with a wide variety of features not previously accessible to no-annual-contract mobile consumers and delivers a truly enhanced user experience.”

The specifications list of the new device includes a large 4.3-inch touchscreen display, along with a fast 1GHz application processor, and a 5-megapixel photo snapper with support for HD video recording capabilities.

The mobile phone also comes to the market with 8GB of internal memory, and with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

At the same time, the new device comes with Dolby Mobile Surround 7.1 and a Corning Gorilla Glass Screen Protector, and offers support for the wireless carrier's 4G LTE service.

The new device is set to become available for purchase at the wireless carrier with a price tag of $249 (around 182 Euros) plus tax, after a mail-in rebate. It will feature this cost through January 1, 2012.

“Plus, customers purchasing the LG Esteem will receive Rhapsody Unlimited Music FREE for 90 days through a limited time promotional offer when they activate the $50 4GLTE service plan,” the wireless carrier announced.

Consumers interested in purchasing the LG Esteem can visit their local store or go online to purchase the phone and sign up for service.
