Killzone 3 is getting ready for its late February release, but this doesn't mean that players won't be able to experience the new first-person shooter developed by Guerrilla Games before then.

Sony has just revealed that a single player demo will be out at the beginning of the month on the PlayStation Store, first for PlayStation Plus subscribers and then for all the rest of the users.

For North American PlayStation Plus subscribers, the Killzone 3 single player demo will appear as an automatic download on February 8, and one day later for European ones.

The Killzone 3 single player demo is set to arrive as an automatic download if you're subscribed to the PlayStation Plus program, meaning that their PlayStation 3 will remotely download the demo and have it ready for play.

Regular PS3 owners will be able to enjoy it on February 15, in North America, and one day later in Europe.

There will be two separate downloads on the PlayStation Store, with one supporting just 2D and the other in stereoscopic 3D.

If you opt for the 2D one, you'll also be getting splitscreen coop, a feature that isn't available in the 3D one.

Both focus on the same level, called Icy Incursion, which is set at the middle of the Killzone 3 single-player campaign.

It will showcase the harsh winter environments of the Helghan homeworld, as well as some of the additions in the new game, like jetpacks or the enhanced brutal melee attacks.

What's more, if you have a PlayStation Move motion detection system, you'll be able to experience both demos by using the new technology instead of the regular DualShock 3 controller.

The full pledged Killzone 3 is set to arrive from Guerrilla Games and Sony on February 22, exclusively for the PlayStation 3.
