Our guess: nothing but a rumor

Rumors about a Killzone 2 Demo have reached our ears as well and, although it sounds like nothing but a hoax, there are some facts to be taken into consideration if we are to believe such a radical statement.

First of all, let's remember what the first Killzone was all about. It immediately became a blast in June, 2003 when video game websites began releasing previews and rumors about the game. Then, as most fans of Sony's second-generation console had been waiting for a game to top Microsoft's Halo: Combat Evolved, the game was eventually released for the Xbox gaming system to their delight. So it was only a matter of time before any rumor about a Killzone sequel or a Killzone 2 would surface to make the day of any games editor and gamer for that matter.

Now, Halo 3 on the other hand is still in beta of the multi-player mode of the game and isn't going to be released until spring this year. And to add even more doubt to the Killzone 2 Demo rumor, everyone should know that the final version of Halo 3 isn't to be released until sometime later in 2007. So it's rather unlikely that Sony has moved Killzone 2 on Insomniac's new shooter franchise, Resistance. Why would Sony make a move like that? Surely if you want to believe such rumor, it won't be happening very soon, not until Halo 3 is launched anyway.

A sequel, Killzone: Liberation has been released on the PlayStation Portable and another Killzone, for the PS3 this time and is currently being developed by Sony, so settle with what you've got, all right?
