Everybody has a skeleton or two in their closet – and this is all the more true for Kat Von D, who’s always been obsessed with fame and how to get it, her ex says.
Speaking with InTouch Weekly, Oliver Peck, owner of Elm Street Tattoo in Dallas and former husband of Kat, says the split came about as it became clear she wanted to become “someone” in showbiz.
They were married for 4 years, between 2003 and 2007, and Peck describes Kat as the most selfish, attention hungry person he ever met in his life.
She was so obsessed with fame and wanting to be someone famous that she even started taking drugs and starving herself to get a proper celebrity body, Peck claims of his former (chubbier) wife.
“She’s the most self-centered person I’ve ever been involved with. Toward the end of our marriage… she was wanting to get liposuction, and she was taking drugs in order to lose weight,” Peck reveals.
Before they broke up, Kat was already becoming famous and this newfound fame was visible in everything she did, to the point where life with her had become unbearable.
Kat “got to the point where she was drinking until she was throwing up every day,” Kat’s ex says for the same magazine.
“She’d be incoherent and sometimes destructive,” he adds. He only decided to end the marriage when a friend told him Kat was having an affair and he realized this was not the life he wanted with her.
“Kat and I met Jesse and Sandra [Bullock] about four years ago at a party. Kat said she thought Jesse wasn’t very cool,” Kat’s ex further says. Clearly, she’s had a change of heart in the meantime.
