Jesse James seems to have stopped harboring any hope that he may win back the affections of his ex-wife, actress Sandra Bullock, and has officially moved on with tattoo artist Kat Von D.

TMZ has the first photo of the two as a couple, out on a date in Las Vegas this past weekend, and, though it offers no clue as to how close they are, it is seen as the first ever pic to show them as lovers.

The two started dating a few days ago, with Kat even taking to her Twitter to confirm it – only to erase the tweet when she noticed just how much media attention it was getting.

Now that they’ve been photographed together, it would seem there’s no denying they’re an item, TMZ says. What still remains to be seen is when they became more than just friends.

“Here’s the pic... Jesse James and Kat Von D on a secret dinner date in Las Vegas earlier this month, right before news broke the tatted up duo were ‘more than friends’,” TMZ writes.

“The pair had dinner together at N9NE steakhouse in The Palms ... during a weekend where they were seen acting ‘very affectionate’ toward each other at several Vegas hot spots,” the same media outlet writes in a post accompanying the blurry photo.

After tweeting that she was dating Jesse James – and then deleting the post – Kat even went on a radio show to confirm that they were an item, the Daily Mail reported a few days ago.

In the interview, the star said she knew all about the cheating scandal but that she refused to let that get in the way of her giving Jesse a chance by getting to know him better.

We are all human and we all make mistakes – and the same can be said about James, Kat believed, which is why she went into the relationship with an open mind.

“Just because I have tattoos doesn’t mean, ‘Oh, you guys are a perfect match.’ I think that I’m his type on a different level than people would assume. I am a believer that we’re all human and we’re all capable of making mistakes,” the tattoo artist said.

And making mistakes is not something Kat is a stranger to, which is why she can understand the position in which Jesse has been in for many months.

“I think if I were to be crucified for my drug addiction three years ago now, it would be hard to live with that. I’m sober now, and it’s awesome but I have made mistakes, too. I’ve got a lot of respect for Jesse and how he handled it,” Kat added.
