Kat Von D and Jesse James have decided to take their relationship up one level, by making their first public appearance as a couple during a weekend getaway in Texas.

Radar Online was the first to break the story of the two’s romantic weekend, which they spent visiting museums, going out and, as pictures on TMZ can confirm, holding hands and kissing.

The two have been dating for a few weeks but this is the first time they’re actually seen together – and the fact that they chose a small town to escape to may have had something to do with that.

“I saw Jesse and Kat holding hands while walking down the main street sidewalk of Fredricksburg, Texas. They came into town early afternoon Sunday on a motorcycle,” an unnamed source says for Radar.

“They were chatting, holding hands and headed towards the Admiral Nimitz Museum,” the same spy says of the couple, who chose to visit a World War II museum on their trip to Texas.

It’s a good thing Kat and Jesse weren’t looking to go by unnoticed because it couldn’t have happened either way.

“It’s a quaint but busy little tourist town. They didn’t go unnoticed. She’s hard to miss,” the same tipster says of the celebrity tattoo artist.

After Radar reported on the couple’s romantic weekend, TMZ got photos to prove that, indeed, the two had made their relationship official, a term often used with celebrity couples who decide to make public appearances as such.

“New couple Jesse James and Kat Von D packed in some serious PDA during a romantic weekend in Texas – taking walks, holding hands, kissing... and riding on motorcycles without helmets,’ the paparazzi agency writes.

When rumor first got out that she was dating James, also labeled a serial cheater for the string of affairs he reportedly had while married to Sandra Bullock, Kat took to Twitter to confirm that it was actually so.

Later on, she deleted the tweet but spoke about the budding romance in a radio interview, saying she believed in second chances and getting to know people before judging them.

In other words, instead of believing what she read about Jesse James in the media and branding him a cheater, she wanted to get to know him and only afterwards judge him.
