Once hailed as one of the hottest young actresses to grace the silver screen, a few years back, Jennifer Love Hewitt found herself at the center of a media frenzy, as pictures of her on the beach, with cellulite on her thighs and a few pounds extra, emerged. Humiliated and angry, the star got her revenge on her critics when she unveiled a slimmer, more toned body shortly afterwards.

Hewitt has since maintained her incredible figure – and it’s all down to a flexible diet that takes into consideration the triggers that would make her overeat or overindulge in cravings, How Celebrities Lose Weight informs. The star started off at first with a 1,500 to 1,800 calorie a day diet plan, but soon afterwards changed to a 1,200 to 1,500 daily calories one, saying that her eating habit needed constantly readjusting because of the weight she was losing.

Though the number of calories might be low enough to make many say she was starving herself, Hewitt insists she’s eating healthy. She has nutritionist Sant’ Angelo to keep a close watch on her, constantly recommending her whole grains before lunch to maintain her energy levels and prevent her from eating late in the evening (which she’s prone to do), fruit, vegetables and protein. Also in order to prevent overeating, the star does her grocery shopping every two days so that she never has too much food around the house that might tempt her – let alone sweet treats.

Breakfast: 2 servings of mixed fruit (like 2 oranges, 1 grapefruit or 6 oz of strawberries, blueberries or s raspberries) and 1 cup of low-fat Greek yogurt or ¾ cup of cottage cheese. Snack: Apple with 1 to 2 tbsp of natural peanut butter. Lunch: Turkey sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes, sprouts, 1/2 tsp mayo and 1/2 tsp mustard on Ezekiel sprouted bread. Snack: 2 Laughing Cow 2 oz cheese cubes and 3 cups of mixed greens, carrots and broccoli. Dinner: 8 oz roasted chicken breast or fish with 2 cups of veggies, such as steamed artichokes, wok-seared mushrooms and snow-pea pods,” HCLW says of the actress’ daily diet.

“I rarely have treats around that might tempt me late at night, which is when I usually crave something really fattening. What am I going to do? Drive out at 11 at night just to satisfy a craving? No, that’s crazy,” Jennifer was saying in an older interview cited by the aforementioned e-zine. “For the most part, yeah, I’m happy with my body,” she also admitted. “But there are days when I’m like, ‘Ugh! Really? Why is it so hard to fit into my jeans?’”
