14 DAY TRIAL // There was a time when “Friends” actress Jennifer Aniston and E! talk show host Chelsea Handler were practically inseparable but that was before Handler started bashing Angelina Jolie whichever chance she got. These days, the two aren’t friends anymore and that’s because Aniston has realized what a “gauche” name-dropper Chelsea is.
The relationship between these two is almost as mediated as the so-called love triangle between Aniston, Angelina Jolie, and Aniston’s ex-husband (and Jolie’s current fiancé) Brad Pitt.
They never said that they had drifted apart or directly mentioned their friendship in any recent interview, but the fact that they have not been photographed together in a while seems to speak volumes.
Star magazine, for one, says in its latest print issue (story via CB) that the two former best friends are no longer that: and it’s all because Chelsea’s “aggressive attempts to upgrade her friendships.” In other words, Handler thought being friends with Aniston also meant being friends with Aniston’s A-list friends, which didn’t exactly agree with Aniston herself.
“Jen called Chelsea a suck-up for begging for an invite to Sandra Bullock’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony and hanging all over her. Chelsea doesn’t even know Sandra!” says an “Aniston pal” for the US publication.
“Jen’s also rolling her eyes over Chelsea’s gauche behavior,” Star continues, citing another friend as saying that, “Chelsea name-drops everyone she hangs out with, whether it’s Charlize Theron, Reese Witherspoon, Katie Couric or 50 Cent. Jen’s definitely pulled back from Chelsea.”
To go with this story of how Handler is a huge hanger-on is Internet chatter about how she has recently got the “Aniston haircut.” She posted photos of her new ‘do on social media and they immediately got people talking (celebrity pundits in particular) about how she was “copying” her famous friend, who also cut her long hair into a bob just recently.
Of course, it could be just a coincidence, but assuming that Chelsea is riding Jen’s coattails seems like more fun.
