Jennifer Aniston is famous for her luscious, healthy-looking and absolutely gorgeous hair but, as it turns out, not even she is immune to the occasional mishap many women have suffered at the salon, and which eventually led to a drastic new cut.

The other day, the actress was photographed with a short bob which wasn’t the result of boredom or some director’s request that she get into a character from one of her upcoming projects, but rather a desperate bid to save her hair from further damage.

Speaking with Elle UK, Jennifer explains that her hair was fried while getting a Brazilian blowdry, which is a super aggressive chemical treatment that straightens the hair for up to 3 months and that is incredibly popular these days.

“It wasn’t for a role. My hair went through a phase – I did this thing called a Brazilian and my hair did not react really well to it. It’s about 2-inches above my shoulders now,” the actress says for the publication.

Even though she knew she needed it, she still felt sorry when she saw the length of the new ‘do. “The minute I cut my hair I want it back. Always. It’s a guarantee. I’m trying really hard to love this one,” Jennifer explains.

The Daily Mail spoke with various hairstylists about this hot new treatment called the Brazilian blowdry and, apparently, none of them would actually get it, saying that there are far less damaging alternatives available. Surprisingly, even straightening your hair daily is considered less harmful for your locks.

Aniston isn’t the only celebrity to recently cut her hair short because of the damage done to it by dyeing and other treatments.

Earlier in the day, Jennifer Lawrence also made headlines for debuting a cute pixie at a Yahoo! event, where she also said that the months of coloring and bleaching had “fried” it completely.
