Videos of Susan Boyle performing “I Dreamed a Dream” on “Britain’s Got Talent” have broken all records on YouTube, totaling over 100 million views in just a few days. Given this, it’s not strange that her house in Blackburn, West Lothian is like a paparazzi magnet, all of them coming from all over the world in the hope of getting a glimpse of the “hairy angel” who made so many weep when she sang her song on the show.

“How famous is Britain’s YouTube sensation Susan Boyle? Her home is staked out with photographers and journalists hoping for an interview, nine days after she belted out a song on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and shot to superstardom. On Tuesday Getty took a new batch of photos of her in Blackburn, West Lothian in Scotland, including shots of one journo trying to get a quote.” Getty says of the situation at the site, where many paps are camped, hoping to get the money shot.

The same goes for the rest of the media, with major publications hoping Boyle comes out with a new song – or at least an interview or a magazine appearance – before the final of “Britain’s Got Talent,” since the waiting would be too long otherwise. With a recording dated in 1999 uncovered recently (see at the end of the article), which has Boyle singing “Cry Me a River” and is a testament to the raw potential of the unlikely star, the hype is understandably on the rise.

As it should be, Simon Cowell believes. In a recent interview, the “Britain’s Got Talent” judge, who is also a member of the panel on “American Idol” and is responsible for launching Kelly Clarkson and Leona Lewis, hinted that Boyle could be the biggest hit in showbiz in many, many years. The 47-year-old churchgoer could actually take the music industry by storm if she played all her cards right – after all, he said, it’s not like the public doesn’t love her already.

“She just had an offer from Oprah to do her show. If she went on Oprah I think there’s every chance Susan Boyle will have the number one album in America, I will predict that.” Cowell was saying a few days ago. As a matter of fact, Cowell is also the one handling negotiations with major labels in the UK on behalf of Boyle who, although extremely pleased by the sudden attention, finds herself a bit overwhelmed by it as well.
