Since yesterday, when it became official that 47-year-old churchgoer Susan Boyle was the latest most unexpected surprise in showbiz, the videos of her performing “I Dreamed a Dream” on “Britain’s Got Talent” have doubled the number of hits. She has already appeared on Good Morning America and, Simon Cowell says for the Daily Mail, will most definitely be scoring a number one album in the US soon enough.

The “new underdog sensation,” as MTV has labeled Boyle, has been showered with attention from the media around the world – and this is precisely what will be getting her a contract with a major record label, Cowell believes. Simon, a judge both on “Britain’s Got Talent” and “American Idol” is believed to have an eye for new talent, and is credited with discovering and helping young stars like Leona Lewis and Kelly Clarkson launch their career.

“She just had an offer from Oprah to do her show.” Simon Cowell says for the aforementioned publication. “If she went on Oprah I think there’s every chance Susan Boyle will have the number one album in America, I will predict that.” he further explains. Cowell is, of course, not the only one to believe that Susan Boyle can have a very successful career in music with her “angel voice.” He is, though, the one who is actively working to get her a record contract in the UK, it has been pointed out.

In the meanwhile, as the entire world is singing her praise, Susan has gone into hiding, tired of the constant attention and in need of some rest to prepare for her next appearance – and performance – on the UK show, her brother is telling the media. “All the attention has been quite an upheaval and she is quite tired. I have taken her away to let her have some peace and quiet before the next round.” John Boyle tells the media from Susan’s house in Blackburn, West Lothian.

That is not to say that she’s not happy about the wave of attention she’s getting, John further explains. On the contrary, the support and love she’s been receiving from people around the world are truly heartwarming. “I think part of her appeal is that behind the voice she is just such a nice and lovely person too. She is as high as a kite, and she is delighted with everything that is going on.” Mr. Boyle says.
