Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has been touting lately the upcoming release of another 4G device, one that would add to the company's existing series of 4G-capable devices, including the HTC EVO 4G, T-Mobile G2 or myTouch 4G, and the company has already kicked off signing up for this device.

According to the dedicated page the company put in place for the new mobile phone, we should be able to learn all about it on January 6th, the day when it would make it official.

When connecting the dots, one would realize that the said release date is in line with an expected announcement of the first 4G LTE devices with Android for mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless in the United States.

In other words, the device that HTC is readying for release in early January would be the one and the same HTC Incredible HD that was previously rumored to bring LTE connectivity to the carrier's network.

Interestingly enough, some enthusiasts did some searching and found out that the device in question might not land on shelves under the name of Incredible, but as Thunderbolt.

The link to special page spotted on HTC's website (via Android Central) contains in it the name Thunderbolt, along with 4G, which suggests that the two would be connected.

And since the Taiwanese mobile phone maker is touting the upcoming release of a new 4G device, it would make sense that Thunderbolt would be this handset, one that was previously spotted around the web under the name of Incredible HD, or as HTC Mecha.

Of course, nothing was confirmed on this for the time being, and it might all prove otherwise when the official announcement is made.

However, since HTC says that January 6th would be the lucky day for those interested in the new mobile phone, which is only next week, we should sit tight and wait for more info to emerge on this. In the meantime, you can signup for the handset here.
