Blake Fielder-Civil asks for payoff, report says

British singer Amy Winehouse has been granted a quickie divorce from her legally troubled (now ex) husband Blake Fielder-Civil the other day. Still, the junkie with no other claim to fame than having married someone as famous and as controversial as Winehouse, as he’s often labeled in the media, might be asking for more than half of her entire estate for having been her “muse” for “Back to Black,” her best selling album to date, News of the World says.

When Fielder-Civil and Winehouse married, they failed to sign a prenup, which would mean that he is entitled to a share of the profits she’s made while legally his wife. Since their marriage also coincided with her most successful period to date, namely the release and subsequent promotion of “Back to Black,” her second album, Blake could ask the court for over half of her estate, it is being said. As a matter of fact, he is actually considering going for as much as $9.7 million from Winehouse’s estate, and he has already told her he would.

The reason behind the request seems to be that it was Blake’s cheating that got Winehouse so depressed that she wrote and recorded “Back to Black.” Therefore, Fielder-Civil seems to believe, he is the only one responsible for Amy’s success, since, if it hadn’t been for his cheating, she wouldn’t have been the successful singer that she is today. Moreover, sources are telling the British tab, he has already made his intentions clear, telling Amy he plans on dragging this in courts until she hands over the money to him.

“Amy did write ‘Back To Black’ when Blake left her, but why on earth should he be getting a dime for making her feel so bad? She was at her lowest ebb when she wrote that album. Her boyfriend had left her for another woman and she poured her heart and soul into the writing process. It’s like saying that the man who writes a book about his murdered wife should give the murderer some of the profits. It’s an absolutely ridiculous request.” one of Amy’s friends tells News of the World.

“Blake has to make a claim before that but he has made it clear to Amy privately he wants millions. She believes she’s right and Blake has no real case for a stake at her money.” the same insider reveals, adding that Fielder-Civil really believes he can convince the judge he was instrumental in Winehouse’s success. Amy, in her turn, has already told friends that she plans to stand strong and not give in to demands. “He’s getting nothing from me,” the singer has reportedly said.
