Only a small problem, it says

We reported yesterday that the manufacturing plants that were tasked by Microsoft with putting together the Collector's Edition packages for Fable II made a pretty big mistake. One of them forgot to include in the limited pack the activation codes for the special in-game items, which were promised to customers who pre-ordered this limited, and more expensive version. Only packages with a special Orange sticker had these codes and players began to search for them very intensively.

Microsoft has now come up with an official statement regarding the issue. The company stresses the fact that this situation only affects some of the copies but an investigation on the size of the matter is still running. The plans to solve this problem are already underway and customers will get their activation codes by October 28.

"We have identified that some copies of the "Fable II" Limited Collector's Edition are missing the downloadable content (DLC) cards, which give access to in-game bonus content. This represents a small fraction of the total number of "Fable II" games shipped and sold, and is contained to the Limited Collector's Edition of the game in North America. We are currently investigating the scope of this situation and regardless the outcome of the investigation, we are implementing a plan to address it. We will have a means to deliver replacement codes by Oct 28th so please check back then. We apologize for the inconvenience."

Although it is a good thing that it is already employing all of its resources in solving this problem, it still doesn't justify how such a big publisher of games like Microsoft forgot to deliver the activation codes to a manufacturing plant. This definitely didn't go very well with Fable II players but if the replacement codes are delivered in short time, then it might not turn out so ugly for the gaming corporation.
