A lot of things are down

Fable II is going to be a very interesting game mainly because Peter Molyneux, one of the most talented people out there, is the lead developer. He announced that the Limited Collector's Edition of the game would be one full of surprises and with a lot of goodies for the eager players. From the likes of fate cards to a Hobbe figure, there should have been something for everybody's taste. Should have been is the current tense because due to a “supply chain issue”, several features were lost. Lionhead Studios, the company behind the development of the title, have just announced that this special edition would be launched without the fate cards, the premium box and the Hobbe figure.

That’s sad news for all the players who wanted their Fable II goodies. Now, they only have this selection in the Collector's Edition: Bonus DVD with the development process, bonus in game content via the Live service, “The Hall of the Dead” dungeon, “The Wreckager” legendary cutlass weapon and a Spartan armor and energy weapon. All these, plus the actual game, of course. As a gesture of kindness, Lionhead have also announced that the cards would be offered as a pdf file which can be printed by any player.

But you would think that without these features, the price would go severely down, right? Well not so much: from the initial price of 80 dollars, it is now 70 dollars. I guess 10 bucks worth of a special box, cards and figurine weren't all that important. Also, the studio will give away a special record album which will contain tracks from the first game, and a few from this new one. All you have to do is visit this site and, starting October 6, you can enter a promotion code of FableCollection and you'll be free to download the soundtrack.
