14 DAY TRIAL // Despite the intense criticism she’s been subjected to ever since she decided to make a name for herself in the music industry, Heidi Montag is one determined aspiring singer. She continues working on her “craft” and is still shamelessly promoted by husband Spencer Pratt whenever the opportunity arises. Over the weekend, Montag also performed at the Miss Universe pageant, just like announced.
Those who’ve seen Montag do her best rendering (lip-synching) of her latest single, “Body Language,” agree they expected far worse than what they got, with some even going as far as placing bets on the odds that she would skip performing altogether, while others were convinced she would fail miserably. Instead, they got a mildly decent performance of Heidi doing her best Britney impersonation.
The reality show star was introduced as “a celebrity” and nothing more, and took the stage with impetus. Seconds later, she had handed her jacket to her backup dancers and was moving around the stage in a skin-colored, sequined two-piece, just like the one Spears also wore on one of her most famous and popular performances. Of course Heidi lip-synched, which was almost painfully obvious at certain points in her routine. Speaking of, it too left much to be desired, creating the impression that it had been put together in a rush by the star herself, Montag’s most bitter critics say.
Either way, Heidi seemed thrilled at how the entire performance played out, even if it lasted under 1:50 minutes. At the end of it, she breathlessly thanked her fans in the crowd and slowly walked off stage with her dancers. Given that she’s been offered such a huge opportunity – as performing at Miss Universe undoubtedly is –, it is believed Heidi will also be coming out with something new soon enough, a new single or perhaps even a video.
Speaking of his wife’s music career, Pratt was saying a while back she was better than Beyonce, so the industry would better pay attention. “A little bit more than the white Beyonce. Beyonce had to be built by a group like Destiny’s Child, but Heidi shines solo. I’ll actually give you an exclusive: I could guarantee you Speidi’s [Spencer and Heidi’s] ‘Bonnie & Clyde’ version is going to stunt on Jay and B’s version. I think I’m the future of hip-hop. You know, I feel bad for saying that. That’s unfortunate, but that’s a fact. You can’t compare my model of hip-hop with what I’m about to come out with versus anything in the game. You know I’ll take the Diddy route. I’m not a lyrical MC, I’m just like Diddy. Look what it did for him? He is still balling.” Spencer was saying a while back.
