Heidi Montag, now going by the name of Heidi Pratt after marrying longtime fiancé Spencer Pratt, star of the MTV reality show “The Hills,” is finally getting her big break in the music industry. After several attempts to make herself heard musically, the blonde will perform at the Miss Universe 2009 Pageant telecast on NBC, Access Hollywood informs.

As it’s perhaps common knowledge, Montag’s previous forays in the music industry have not been all that successful, both because she was considered too minor a talent to be paid attention to and due to the fact that she’s known for her desperate attempts to grab media headlines. However, one thing that she’s always been dead serious about, as per her own statements, is making music and establishing herself as a bona fide pop star, one that would perhaps rival Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Jessica Simpson in their early days.

“The ‘Hills’ blonde, who doubles as an aspiring pop star, will perform during the 2009 Miss Universe Pageant telecast next month, Access Hollywood can exclusively reveal. Heidi treated fans to snippets of her singing while in the Costa Rican jungle earlier this summer on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ and viewers of the Miss Universe Pageant will get to check out what Heidi sounds like on the big stage on August 23. Heidi will perform the song ‘Turn Ya Head’ off her debut album, ‘Unleashed,’ which came out in July.” Access Hollywood writes. Nevertheless, as of now, no official statement has yet been made regarding said performance.

Just a short while back, we were reporting on a statement coming straight from Heidi’s husband and, at the same time, her biggest supporter and promoter to date, Spencer Pratt. According to him, Montag as a singer will be the biggest surprise of the music industry in years, as he strongly believed she was much better than even Beyonce, a diva often highly praised for her powerful voice and impressive range. Moreover, Pratt was also saying back then, if Heidi was the new Beyonce, then clearly he would become the next Jay Z, perhaps the most influential hip hop producer of our times.

“A little bit more than the white Beyonce. Beyonce had to be built by a group like Destiny’s Child, but Heidi shines solo. I’ll actually give you an exclusive: I could guarantee you Speidi’s [Spencer and Heidi’s] ‘Bonnie & Clyde’ version is going to stunt on Jay and B’s version. I think I’m the future of hip-hop. You know, I feel bad for saying that. That’s unfortunate, but that’s a fact. You can’t compare my model of hip-hop with what I’m about to come out with versus anything in the game. You know I’ll take the Diddy route. I’m not a lyrical MC, I’m just like Diddy. Look what it did for him? He is still balling.” Pratt was saying a short while back.
