Mobile phone users in the UK have now the possibility to enjoy another affordable, yet appealing smartphone running under Google's Android operating system on the airwaves of Three UK, namely the HTC Wildfire. The wireless carrier has announced the availability of this device on its networks only a few days ago, and users interested in making a purchase should head over to the wireless carrier's website here.

The mobile phone was made available in two color flavors, namely Black and White Silver, and is available for free on various monthly contracts with the operator.

It was made available on the carrier's The One Plan as well, which delivers 2000 minutes (Any time, any network), 5000 texts and All-you-can-eat Data for only £30 a month. However, other monthly options are also available for the carrier's customers.

The HTC Wildfire S was released as the successor of last year's affordable Wildfire, and comes as a smaller flavor of the more appealing HTC Desire S.

“This affordable and compact smartphone is the natural evolution from the popular HTC Wildfire. Smoother, smaller, neater - with a crisp touchscreen display. The Pinch & Zoom feature makes viewing websites, maps and apps a breeze,” the mobile phone carrier notes on its website.

“You'll see all the handy HTC features and pre-loaded apps you loved on the original Wildfire – plus Flash support, Skype and access to more than 160,000 apps in the Android Market.

“Widescreen capture, geotagging and face detection help you get more from your photos – then just pick the app you need and share them online.”

Some of the handset's specs would include a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, complemented by a fast application processor, enhanced connectivity options (3G, WiFi, Bluetooth), and more.

On the back, the handset sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper, with auto focus and LED flash. Based on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, it would also offer support for Google mobile services and for applications available through the Android Market.
