As expected, HTC Sensation has just reached Australian shores, as major carrier Telstra announced the availability of the smartphone.

Aussie customers can obtain Telstra's HTC Sensation for free on a $79 Freedom Connect Plan, which offers $800 worth of eligible calls, unlimited standard national text, unlimited MessageBank use and 2GB of data to use in Australia each month.

Business customers can get the HTC Sensation for free on a $59 Business Mobile Maximiser Plan with an additional handset payment of $13 per month.

Instead, they will receive $550 worth of eligible calls, unlimited standard national text and 1.5GB of data to use in Australia each month.

Furthermore, those who wish to purchase the phone without signing for a new agreement must pay $792 outright.

With its premium industrial design, look and feel, an immersive, richer movie watching and music listening experience by virtue of its true widescreen and virtual surround sound capabilities, the HTC Sensation is simply a feast for the senses,” said Ben Hodgson, country manager, HTC Australia and New Zealand.

With a 4.3-inch qHD display that delivers high-resolution true 16:9 widescreen viewing and 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor at the heart, the HTC Sensation enables a superior multimedia experience and all-round fast performance.

Harnessing a powerful dual-core processer, the HTC Sensation allows customers to enjoy graphic-intensive games, HD video, fast mobile web browsing and multitasking,” said Andrew Volard, director of Telstra Mobile Product.

HTC Sensation comes with TelstraOne application that brings news, sports and weather feeds directly on the phone's homescreen.

The application also includes two weather widgets and a My Account widget that makes it easy to see at a glance how much included data a customer has remaining.

The Sensation is powered by Google's latest Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system and boasts an 8-megapixel camera that can shoot full HD video in 1080p resolution, with full stereo sound, at up to 30 frames a second.
