HTC Sensation, the latest Android-powered smartphone announced by the Taiwanese handset manufacturer has just made its debut in India.

The smartphone can be purchased via Letsbuy retailer for Rs. 30,699 (about $685), but the phone's delivery time is 5 to 8 working days.

The Sensation was announced back in April and hit shelves one month later, in May. The device is HTC's Android flagship smartphone, until the handset manufacturer announces another phone heavier on the features.

The handset runs Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread along with the new and improved HTC Sense 3.0 UI on top of it.

Touted as one of the most powerful smartphone launched by HTC, the Sensation is equipped with a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon application processor, complemented by the next-generation Adreno 220 graphical processing unit.

Furthermore, the phone comes with a large 4.3-inch S-LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 540 x 960 pixels resolution, much the same as the iPhone 4's.

In addition, it packs 1 GB of internal memory, 768 MB RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8GB included).

The HSDPA-enabled handset boasts an 8-megapixel main camera with autofocus, dual-LED flash, image stabilization, face detection, instant capture, as well as secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

The phone is powered by a high-capacity 1520 mAh Li-Ion battery that should provide users up to 350 hours (400 hours for 3G) of standby time or up to 8 hours (7 hours for 3G) of talk time.

On related news, HTC India has yet to make any official announcement about the recent availability of the HTC ChaCha and HTC Sensation, which can be purchased from various major retailers across the country.

The company's first Android tablet, the HTC Flyer 3G is also available for pre-order via Flipkart, but it might take up to three weeks until the device will hit shelves.
