HTC Nike has come in two forms until now, although none of them was a real one. Some rumors saw this device ready for a September release. As the deadline is approaching, a handset highly similar to the Nike one has just been released at NTT DoCoMo under the name of FOMA HT1100.

The new smartphone features the same slider form as the HTC Nike and the HTC Touch look, also with the impressive TouchFLO interface that the producer has promised to use in all its devices from now on. Active business consumers will be the ones that will especially appreciate what FOMA HT1100 has to offer. This includes the YouTube Mobile content that many video addicts will appreciate.

The smartphone runs on Windows Mobile 6, the latest version of this operating system and also includes several helpful features. It comes equipped with Streaming Media software and HTC's Audio Manager music player, for hours of entertainment. Moreover, the device will also bring DoCoMo's WORLD WING international roaming service.

FOMA HT1100's sizes are considerably compact, for a slider phone, as it has 107 x 55 x 16.5 mm and 120 grams. The slider design is meant to make up for the need of some type of helping buttons that HTC Touch users might have felt. The touchscreen technology is the thing that set this device in competition with the iPhone, but could use some handling improvements.

The 2.6 inch TFT LCD display screen is capable of supporting a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, enough for watching videos at a fairly good quality. The phone also includes a 2 megapixel camera and a VGA one for placing video calls. Personal data can be stored on a microSD card, although some high internal memory would have been also welcomed.

FOMA HT1100 came out of nowhere, with little warnings from HTC on this new release that they planned on. NTT DoCoMo has made no specifications on the price that this device will be available at in Japan. HTC also plans on making a new smartphone release on the 8th of September, at the GITEX Technology event in Dubai.
