According to the latest news on the Web, the Taiwanese mobile phone maker High Tech Computer (HTC), is expected to unveil its HTC Maple handset, its latest QWERTY device, at the CTIA Wireless Trade Show 2009 held April 1-3 in Las Vegas.

The new mobile phone coming from HTC is reported to be a rather Blackberry-like QWERTY device, or something between the Samsung Blackjack and Moto Q handsets. The fresh HTC Maple has been recently spotted in the company's roadmap that surfaced to the Web not too long ago.

At the same time, is seems that the phone maker is discussing the possible introduction of its new HTC Maple with a number of four carriers so that the smartphone would have a much wider availability than the one T-Mobile would be able to provide. It appears that the HTC Cedar, which is stated to be the CDMA version of the device, is heading towards Verizon, a leading US operator, while Maple will surely go to T-Mobile.

HTC Maple has also surfaced along with the HTC roadmap, and we know that the device is expected to come with a 2.4-inch QVGA display, while running under Windows Mobile 6.1. The handset should include 128MB RAM and 256MB ROM, as well as a 528MHz Qualcomm 7225 processor.

The smartphone market is in a continuous growth, and devices like the new HTC Magic are attracting a wide range of users, yet we should wait for CTIA to start so as to see whether the fresh handset has something to offer or it comes just as any other HTC smartphone that can bee seen out on the market at the moment. Hopefully, we should also be able to learn a few more details on the availability of the device, too.
