Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is reportedly preparing to launch on the market a series of new handsets coming from the Taiwanese maker HTC Corporation, among which one should count the HTC Imagio. Supposedly a Windows Mobile-powered handset, the device should become available with the 6.5 flavor of the operating system on board, and rumors say that October 6 might be the lucky day for this beauty.

In case the new device will indeed become available with Big Red starting that very day, users will have the opportunity to enjoy a nice looking phone, as the new images that surfaced on Phone arena show. Most of the specs of HTC Imagio have been already spotted into the wild before, yet there are still some things that haven't been unveiled until now, such as the fact that VCast MobileTV sees a direct link from the “Media” button present with the device.

Other than that, nothing seems to be new: HTC's TouchFLO 3D user interface will come with the handset (it should be interesting to see whether it is Manila 2.5 as the one present on HTC Leo), users will be able to enjoy a 3.6-inch WVGA display, as well as a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and no flash. In addition, the device is reportedly the first smartphone from Verizon to include support for VCast MobileTV, based on Qualcomm's MediaFLO network.

The specification list of the mobile phone also includes CDMA/GSM connectivity, a Qualcomm 7600 processor clocked at 528MHz, 512MB of ROM and 256MB of RAM, aGPS and full GPS, a 3.5mm Headset jack, Wi-Fi connectivity and Opera browser, as well as a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space. October 6 is only about a week away, so the new Windows Mobile-based device might be announced pretty soon, so stick around to learn more details on it.
