Supposedly Android-based phones among them

Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is reportedly preparing the release of at least five new handsets, as the company has trademarked their names with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The upcoming five phones should come to the market as HTC Vigor, HTC Dawn, HTC Interlude, HTC Imagio and HTC Tattoo.

According to the news, two of these handsets have had their names applied/registered for with the European of the Trademark Office, Dawn and Tattoo, and there are great chances that the devices will indeed materialize in the near future. Moreover, the fact that the company has trademarked the names could very well suggest that these might be the names under which the mobile phones will surface on the market, and not only codenames, as it most often happens with HTC's handsets.

For the time being, it seems that there are no other details on these names. The only thing that is actually known is that HTC applied for them, and the next logical assumption was that it planned on using them with a series of future handsets. Hopefully, the company will shed some more light on this in the near future. Until that happens though, we're still in the rumor and speculation area, yet there are some things that make sense and connect with what is already known, so they deserve to be brought to your attention.

First, we should say that there is a great chance that some of these handsets will run under Android when released on the market (in case they are handsets indeed). The company already announced plans to unveil more mobile phones powered by Google's operating system, which means that one or two of these names will be used in this regard. At the same time, the company was also rumored to be working on a non-smartphone handset, and it would make sense to hear that a future such device will get one of these monikers. Stay tuned to learn more on this.
