The highly anticipated Windows Mobile 6.5-based HTC HD2 has finally been released to the market in the UK. The new mobile phone can be purchased from wireless carrier Vodafone, which has it available for its subscribers for free on monthly plans that start at £35. The handset has been expected to reach the market for quite some time, and it seems that it is here, making users happy.

UK users who would like to have a taste of this high-end mobile phone should head over to Vodafone's stores or to the carrier's website. The HTC HD2 can be purchased with 24-month plans priced at £35 or £40 per month, as well as with 18-month plans that are priced at £40 or £45 per month. Considering the capabilities of this handset, the Vodafone offering doesn't sound like a bad deal at all.

For those who are not yet familiar with what the new HTC HD2 is set to deliver to users, we should mention a large 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen display that boasts a 480 x 800 pixel resolution, multi-touch capabilities and support for 65k colors, and a 5-megapixel photo snapper that comes with auto focus, LED flash and video recording capabilities.

In addition, the handheld also includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked in at 1GHz, 448 MB of internal memory, 512 MB of RAM, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, FM Radio, Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g) connectivity, a 3.5 mm stereo audio jack, Micro-USB slot, and a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space.

The new mobile phone also offers features and access to a variety of services that are related to the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system it comes around with, including the Windows Marketplace for Mobile, MyPhone, ActiveSync, or Microsoft Outlook Mobile. Support for messaging and email are also included with the device.
