HTC EVO 3D, the first smartphone that came from the Taiwan-based handset vendor with support for recording and displaying 3D content while on the go, is expected to land at Best Buy in the near future in a new color, purple.

The leading retailer is expected to have the new colored flavor of the device available exclusively in the near future, though no specific info on when that might happen is known for the time being.

A photo with the purple model already made an appearance into the wild via Pocketnow, but the device is not official yet.

However, it does not come too much as a surprise that Best Buy is gearing up for the release of a new version of Evo 3D, not after RadioShack confirmed plans to launch a white flavor of the phone as well in the near future.

Not to mention that it is a common fact that HTC is usually releasing more color flavors of its Android-based handsets, so as to provide users with more personalization options.

The HTC EVO 3D was launched in the United States only a few months ago on the airwaves of Sprint, and runs under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

The handset features a large 4.3-inch touchscreen display with support for 3D content without the need of stereoscopic glasses, as well as a powerful 1.2GHz application processor inside, for great performance capabilities.

On the back, it sports dual 5MP cameras for recording of content in 3D, along with a front-facing camera that enables users place and receive video calls.

The handset also comes to the market with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity options, as well as with support for Sprint's 4G services.

Other specs of HTC EVO 3D would include a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space, along with built-in GPS receiver, 3.5mm headphone jack, and the usual set of sensors.
