One of the HTC smartphones that should bring the Android OS to the market in the United States in the near future should be the HTC Kingdom, reportedly on its way to at least two wireless carrier in the country, including Alltel and Sprint.

The former is said to be planning the release of HTC Kingdom as the HTC Acquire, while the latter is rumored to have it on shelves as the EVO Design 4G.

The mobile phone was spotted into the wild before, and some other rumors on its naming and specs already emerged, but new evidence regarding the phone's naming and the like has surfaced.

Apparently, the handset is expected to run under Google's Android 2.3.4 operating system when made available, something that should happen before the end of the ongoing year.

At the same time, the mobile phone is said to be on its way to the market with a 4-inch touchscreen display that would boast a qHD (540 x 960 pixel) resolution, and with great looks.

Not only that, but the performance levels it would be capable of offering would also be impressive, courtesy of the fast 1.2 GHz Snapdragon S2 (MSM7x30) application processor packed inside it.

The handset is also expected to include 768MB of RAM, and a microSD memory card slot with support for additional storage space.

Other specs of this mobile phone might include a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for HD video recording, and a 1.3MP camera on the front, for video calling.

Moreover, it would arrive on the market with support for 4G HSPA+ connectivity, as well as with Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFI 802.11 b/g/n capabilities.

Apparently, the new mobile phone would be included in Sprint's offering somewhere between the EVO 3D and the EVO Shift, and might be marketed as the older brother of the original EVO 4G.
