Last week, mobile phone carrier Sprint made available for purchase on its airwaves a new handset running under Google's Android operating system, the HTC EVO 3D, which is already available for a reduced price if purchased via Amazon Wireless.

The Android-powered device was launched at $199 with the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the wireless carrier, and is now available for purchase at $149.99 via Amazon. It still requires the signing of a contract, otherwise it will go for $499.99.

The HTC EVO 3D is the first mobile phone launched in the United States with support for recording 3D content on the go, courtesy of is dual 5-megapixel cameras on the back.

It is one of the most expected devices on the market at the moment, and now it is a little more appealing than before, courtesy of the said price cut it has just seen.

The mobile phone sports high-end capabilities, including a dual-core application processor to provide increased performance capabilities, as well as support for a wide range of mobile services coming from Google or Sprint.

In addition to being able to record 3D content in HD, the mobile phone is also capable of displaying it on the 4.3 inch 3D QHD (960x540) touchscreen that HTC packed on it, without the need of using 3D glasses.

“With the latest version of the acclaimed HTC Sense user experience and powered by Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), HTC EVO 3D is ideal for users who want to both stream video and generate their own video experience to record life's moments, view them in 3D and share them easily,” Amazon notes.

“Users can quickly download movies, create user generated content and enjoy a Flash-enabled web browsing experience using the speed of the 3G/4G network and the power a 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.”

The specifications list of the new device also includes a 1.3-megapixel camera on the front for video calling, along with Wi-Fi connectivity, Mobile Hotspot, microSD memory card slot, Bluetooth, GPS receiver, 3.5mm headphone jack, and more.
