It seems that HTC's new Android-based mobile phones would make a nice entrance on the market, especially if they would sport the price tags various retailers around Europe have started to list them with.

Among these retailers, we can count Amazon.de, which placed the new HTC Desire Z smartphone on its website with a price tag of €549 attached to it, or Amazon UK, which has it priced at £499.

For what it's worth, if the new smartphone does arrive on the market with this price tag, it would show that HTC considers the device a high-end phone, since the original HTC Desire is said to have landed with at the same price tag back in Spring.

There are great chances that the twin brother of Desire Z, namely the T-Mobile G2, would sport a similar price tag, though the wireless carrier did not announce an official cost for it for the time being.

In addition to these price tags, we should also mention that UK e-tailer Play.com has listed the new smartphone on its website for only £430, saying that it is already available for pre-order.

Moreover, it seems that the HTC Desire HD is also present there, featuring a price tag of £470, also on pre-order, and that the mobile phone might hit the shelves on October 11.

However, Amazon UK says that October 18 would be the lucky launch day, for the Desire Z.

For the time being, nothing seems to have been carved in stone, or announced officially as being so, and we've already seen situations in which release dates are modified even when official.

It should not be too long before HTC or carriers in the UK announce officially when the Desire Z becomes available for purchase, or the new HTC Desire HD, for that matter.

It still remains to be seen what specific price tag the Android-based device would sport, so keep an eye on this space for more.(via Engadget)
