The arrival of the new HTC Desire HD on Vodafone UK's airwaves is closer than originally expected. According to the wireless carrier, those who will pre-order the phone from its website should receive it at their homes by October 14th, roughly 10 days from now. We already knew that the carrier has the new smartphone on pre-order, as it annouced the move via Twitter, but it appears that things moved forward, and that the new device is also available on Vodafone UK's website.

The new Android-based HTC Desire HD was put on pre-order at Vodafone UK for free on Pay monthly plans that start at £35.

“If you're looking for a great Android experience on a huge, bright high-definition touchscreen, choose the HTC Desire HD,” the carrier notes, adding that they “will aim to deliver from 14 October.”

Considering the great deal of appealing features the new device comes to the market with, we souldn't be surprised if the carrier announces soon that the pre-order for the device are full.

Here are some of the phone's main features:

- HD touchscreen - see everything from websites to movies in high definition - Super-fast processor - there's no waiting around, whether you're browsing the web or playing games - Highly customisable - choose how you want your homescreens, wallpaper, widgets and apps However, other wireless carriers in the UK would also add the new smartphone to their offerings, enabling users to choose the network they like the most when acquiring the device.

The specs list of this phone includes a 4.3" touchscreen display, an 8-megapixel photo snapper, 4GB of internal memory complemented by a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space, or a battery that can offer up to 320 minutes of talk time or up to 490 hours of standby time.

At the same time, the new device comes with support for 3Gm Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, with built in GPS navigation, and with support for social networking sites.

The HTC Desire HD comes with lots of great apps preloaded for things like getting the latest news sent to your phone or turning your camera's flash into a handy torchlight,” the wireless carrier notes.

More applications are available for download from the Android Market, enabling further customizations of the new device, in case the HTC Sense solution the Taiwanese mobile phone maker packed inside it is not enough.

Those mobile phone users in the UK interested in purchasing the new HTC Desire HD from Vodafone should head over to the carrier's website here to learn more on the matter.
