I like Pocket PCs as much as everybody does, at least the ones with enough love for the mobile technology to not worry about things becoming more complicated each day for the one owning such a device.

Today I might have found out about one of the best PCs available on the mobile market, the HTC Athena also branded by some of the web sources as the Athena, an innovative device offering us, the smartphone users, an UMPC look we're not used too. Yet!

What gives it this UMPC flavor? The 3.5 inch touchscreen QVGA TFT LCD display, a well deserved upgrade to the 2 point something screens we are used to on our now dull handhelds, a Windows Mobile 5 PPC PE operating system working on a 400 MHz Samsung processor able to withstand all the multitasking weight the Microsoft OS brings on the mobile device.

The tri-band GSM/GPRS device working on 900/1800/1900 MHz networks also gives the users access to another first encounter, a built-in 256 MB ROM memory, coming together with a 64MB RAM bonus, a SDIO/MMC memory expansion card slot, a 2 megapixel digital camera with a macro lens and a secondary one for the video calls, wireless 802.11b/g WAN access, USB 1.1 connectivity and wireless Bluetooth.

You're in for more? You got it because this smartphone also has a removable full featured QWERTY Keyboard able to ease the use of the pre-installed applications and a true dream for the text messaging maniacs that now have the chance to prove their skills on a totally different level of complexity.

If this rumor is true, then this might just be the best equipped smartphone I've seen this year.

One more thing before I end this article: don't worry about the problems regarding the way one will be able to fit it in his pocket because they will suddenly fade away when you'll see that immense screen all yours to play with.
