HTC Corporation and Chunghwa Telecom announced today the first traditional Chinese-language Android-powered mobile phone in the world, the HTC Magic, which will become available for purchase in the country starting May, while being complemented by various price plans CHT offers to its customers.

The specification list of the handset is widely known already, as it includes a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen display, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper, GPS capabilities, and a trackball for easy access. The handset is meant to offer users a leveraged Internet experience, while also providing them with access to the Android Market, where they can find a wide range of applications to personalize their devices.

The introduction of HTC Magic represents another demonstration of HTC’s leading position in mobile technology, mobile entertainment, and highly personalized mobile devices. Other features that the HTC Magic will bring along include zoom in/out function for the trackball, popular Google applications like Google Search and Google Maps, access to MP3 applications, calendar, Skype, and mobile phone games on the Android Market, and a variety of email options, including Gmail, POP3 and IMAP, as well as messaging capabilities with Google Talk for instant messaging.
