HTC Magic, the second mobile phone in the world to run under the Google Android operating system, is already available for purchase online for Vodafone's customers who live in Spain. The move was somehow unexpected, as most of us were looking at the UK site for the launch, yet it seems that the Spanish can now get their Magic, while the British can only pre-order one, while waiting until May 5 to get their hands on it.

Even so, it seems that, while the handset will be offered for free in the UK, users in Spain will have to pay for it, and the phone sports prices ranging from €19 to €199, depending on the data plan one opts for. To be more precise, those who go for a €21 monthly plan will get the phone for €199, while the device goes for €139 with a €37 plan and for €19 with a €62 plan, all prices requiring the signing of an 18-month contract agreement.

Interestingly enough, it seems that the above mentioned price tags will only apply to existing customers, as well as to those who are new with the company but come from a competitive carrier, at least this is what Android Authority says. Other new customers with the company will have to pay €339 for the Magic on a €21 plan, or €299 on the other two, again with an 18-month agreement.

While available for online purchase at the moment, the HTC Magic will come to Vodafone's stores next week, probably on May 5, when it will become available in other countries as well. We already reported yesterday that TIM would also launch the phone in Italy – and we might see this happen around the May 5 date as well – and now we learn that SFR France also plans to release it on its airwaves as soon as May 6, at least this is what it says on a web page dedicated to the Magic.
