Lately we've heard quite a lot about the successor to 2007's BioShock first person shooter, entitled BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams. The game was recently at the center of a massive teaser campaign set in motion by its publisher, 2K Games, and meant to build up hype before its presumed official announcement at next week's Game Developers Conference, held in San Francisco.

But besides the teaser website that the company put up, the latest cover of April's issue of GameInformer sparked a true avalanche of rumors, as it depicted a Big Sister, the new character in the upcoming title. Also, speculations about the story that the game will unravel have also risen, with many voices deeming definite the fact that we won't see the iconic Big Daddies in the game.

Now, as the rumors have dwelled down, and seemingly we will play as a renegade Big Daddy against a single Big Sister, 2K has revealed a few tidbits of information about the game. Sadly, it isn't something about the gameplay or about the story, but about its new title. No longer will the Sea of Dreams subtitle be present on the game cover, as the new name will be simply BioShock 2.

Also, a representative of 2K Games has also revealed that if you don't want to or can't purchase the next issue of GameInformer, don't worry, as BioShock 2 will also be present in 25 more game magazines around the world. Also, the official community site of the game has also revealed that the first podcast of the new game will be posted at the middle of April.

In between the announcements about the name change and the teaser articles, the representatives of 2K have also revealed that the highly rumored co-op single player mode won't be present, but other multiplayer modes might appear.
