BioShock was a great game that took the whole industry to a new level in terms of how the story was portrayed, the characters and how the gamer never really felt out of contact regarding the actions that took place on screen. Despite the fact that it was created as a single game, the success it experience prompted Take Two, the owner of the Intellectual Property, to turn it into a franchise.

Since then, not a lot of things have been heard, until the PlayStation 3 version of the game, which was launched last year, contained a teaser video of the second installment in the series, BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams. We've recently reported on the fact that 2K Games, the developers of the title, launched a viral website that will build up the hype before the imminent announcement of the game, which will most likely happen at the Game Developers Conference to take place next week.

After posting a rumor published by Kotaku, which cited inside sources, that the new enemies in the game would actually be Big Sisters, a slimmer, more agile and in some ways Amazonian take on the hulking Big Daddy from the first iteration, a lot of controversy has appeared. Now, the latest edition of GameInformer has published the cover of the magazine, which confirms the presence of the whole new Big Sisters in the game.

Besides the picture of the new character, the magazine boasts its 10-page take on the future game, filled with concept art and screenshots. But one of the most important pieces of information is the fact that the action of the game will take place in Rapture, the underwater city that was home to the first game as well.

Whether or not we will meet with the protagonist of the first title or if descendants of Andrew Ryan, the creator of Rapture, are still alive is something that we will find out in the following weeks. Until then, the teaser website is continuously updated with new cases of kidnappings made by mysterious culprits, which we now know it's the Big Sisters.
