Anything to boost sales

Call of Duty: World At War will certainly be a very interesting game. Set to be the first CoD title developed by other studio than the creators of the first four titles, Infinity Ward, the Treyarch developed shooter will have its action placed, yet again, in the Second World War. The studio is trying to get the hype going around the title by releasing multiplayer beta stages for the Xbox 360 and the PC with reviews of these experiences being very positive.

The creators stated that the multiplayer aspect is going to be as well polished as the one in the latest title launched in the franchise, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. That game gained critical acclaim by being the first one whose action did not take place during World War II and by giving players an excellent multiplayer experience, which still makes the title very popular these days.

CoD: World at War will be hitting store shelves on November 11 for the United States, with European gamers getting their hands on the much anticipated shooter on November 14. For gamers who can't wait for the launch of this title, GameStop has just announced that it would be putting the title on sale one day earlier, on November 10. Customers who want to benefit from the offer should get to their local GameStop stores around 5 PM, when the copies get on sale.

Although some hinted to a deal between GameStop and the game's publisher, Activision, the retail chain declared that the early release is only possible because it deployed a considerable amount of forces to the local FedEx branches, which would deliver the very anticipated game earlier to the GameStop stores.

It's really nice to see that game stores are doing more and more for customers even though the store management division could have easily waited for the official release day.
