Samsung Galaxy S II, the flagship handset that South Korean mobile phone maker launched on shelves earlier this year with Google's Android operating system on board, is now available for pre-order in Australia via local wireless carrier Vodafone.

The handset already hit shelves in the country via Optus, and should be available through this operator exclusively for about a month, but those who are willing to way would be able to acquire it through Vodafone too before June is over.

The Galaxy S II smartphone comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board at Vodafone, and should be in users' hands at the end of June, the wireless carrier announced in a recent blog post.

On top of that, Vodafone unveiled that the mobile phone would be come with specific accessories to their customers, such as a genuine leather case from Samsung.

“This exclusive pre-sale is available for a limited time only and comes with a bonus Samsung genuine leather case if you order before 9 June 2011 (unless extended) and $50 Bonus bill credit,” the carrier announced.

The specifications list of the new device would include a 1.2GHz dual-core application processor, complemented by 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space.

The handset comes with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED plus capacitive touchscreen with Gorilla Glass, and packs an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for 1080p at 30fps HD video recording, and with a 2MP camera on the front, for video calling.

It also sports a wide range of connectivity capabilities, including HSPA+, as well as WiFi and Bluetooth, USB port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a built-in GPS receiver.

The Samsung Galaxy S II is available for pre-order through Vodafone's online store via this link. It features a price of $10 per month on the $45 monthly plan, but is also available for $0 upfront on the $65 per month plan.

Users would also be able to purchase it on the carrier's caps, for $15 per month on the $29 cap, and going all the way to $0 upfront on the wireless operator's $79 cap.
