Alice returns in September 2010. Fans of the successful franchise “Resident Evil” will get to have a first look at how the fourth installment will turn out to be once “Nightmare on Elm Street” hits theaters, as the first official trailer will be attached to the remake, actress Milla Jovovich says on her Twitter.

Last we heard about the franchise was a little over a year ago, when confirmation that a “Resident Evil 4” would be made ended up online. However, at the time, it was not known whether Jovovich would also be reprising her role from the previous 3 flicks, though, in all fairness, a film in which Alice would be played by another actress or in which there would be no Alice to begin with was not something that could sit well with fans.

The same fans will now be happy to learn that they don’t have to wait that much longer to see the first trailer for the fourth film. “Just heard that the teaser for RE4 will come out in front of nightmare on elm street!” Milla tweeted the other day. This means on April 30 in the US. “Resident Evil: Afterlife” arrives in US theaters in September 2010 and also stars “Prison Break” hottie Wentworth Miller, Ali Larter and Shawn Roberts. The film is directed by Paul W.S. Anderson on a script also penned by him.

We were also telling you the other day that the second trailer for “Nightmare on Elm Street” had dropped and was causing quite a stir with fans of the original franchise and of horror movies in general. Many were reserved when they first heard that Platinum Dunes was set on coming out with a remake for the first film in the series, saying that there was no way they could make Krueger a believable killer in the actual context. It seems those who had doubts were wrong – at least, judging on the trailer alone.

“Slasher movie fans, Freddy has come for you – in the new trailer for the upcoming remake of ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street.’ Freddy Krueger, the demonic killer who lives in teenagers’ dreams is back; but instead of watching a new batch of kids get cut up, we’re getting a not-so-‘80s look at how the terrifying story began (luckily the red-and-green sweater remains). The casting of Jackie Earle Haley, as Krueger, is still the most exciting aspect about this project. The Oscar-nominated character actor of ‘Watchmen’ fame seems like one of the only people on the planet who can replace the original Krueger, Robert Englund, and not be the victim of rabid fanbase backlash. This just-released trailer is our best look at Haley’s burnt-up, nightmare monster,” MovieFone wrote upon the release of the trailer, as we also informed you at the time.
