Great new online first person shooter on the horizon

To be honest, it is just now that I've found out about this exciting online first person shooter (FPS) game and I can say that I am already impressed. Developed by Nexon America, the shooter is called Combat Arms and it will soon begin its closed beta stage, with the full release coming, hopefully, later this summer. The company says that the game is completely free to play, but we really doubt it - there has to be some sort of micro transaction involved somewhere...

Anyway, these are just details and they don't matter too much right now - the details regarding the game are the most important. The online FPS promises to offer customization features never seen before in such a game: the possibility to change the appearance of your character and choose which weapons to carry on the combat field. Also, all the weapons can be modified by adding new stuff such as silencers, scopes or extended magazines.

"Competition in video games among friends is always fun, but Combat Arms takes it to another level by letting gamers frag for free," said Min Kim, vice president of marketing for Nexon America. "Combat Arms delivers all the great socialization elements found in other popular Nexon Games and presents them in one of the most popular gaming genres in North America."

Just like it happens with most of the MMOs today, Combat Arms will have a social feature, too. Being a first person shooter, it means that this feature will be clan-oriented: players can recruit, manage and communicate with their clan members within the game. There is another option available, that of creating an extensive profile to track your experience and performance to see all the great stats we love, like headshots, kills and so on.

The closed beta for this really promising Combat Arms title will begin on the 30th of May and you should check the official website if you want to find out more about your chance of winning a beta key. Everybody else will patiently wait summer, when the game gets a full release and, hopefully, there will be no delays in sight.
