iOS fans who are into social networking will be happy to find that Facebook for iPhone has gotten a new feature courtesy to the people at VoiZapp

The new Messages Aloud application for iOS allows users to broadcast their Facebook messages as a personalized “news radio.”

According to VoiZapp, this is the first iOS app to bring optimized text-to-speech technology to Facebook messages fully compatible with all iOS devices.

Aside from reading Facebook messages aloud, the application allows users to scroll through each message on screen or tap around to read messages at random, and automatically switch between reading existing messages in reverse time order or just reading new messages as they arrive.

Facebook has become an integral part of our lives, and mobile has fundamentally changed the way we access and use social networking services”, said Dr. Robert B. Wesson, Voizapp’s CEO.

With Messages Aloud, users can play, pause, and skip forward/back using intuitive controls, just like the iPod.

You can now stay in touch with your Facebook friends while safely driving, walking, exercising – anywhere your eyes are otherwise occupied. Messages Aloud also gives the visually-impaired and elderly an audible window into their friends’ and families’ lives by allowing them to hear all of their messages read aloud,” concluded Wesson.

It is also worth mentioning that VoiZapp offers customers the option to try the application before purchase via Messages Aloud Lite.

Messages Aloud Lite reads aloud only the last 10 messages, but the Messages Aloud Pro can read all of users’ messages as they arrive, even while in the background.

Messages Aloud Pro for iOS is now available for download for $1.99 USD exclusively through Apple’s App Store.

The application is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad devices running iOS 3.1.3 or later and requires 10.8 MB storage.
