Either it's an email or a text message people have always wondered how fast they can communicate with their friend and families.

Is their message reaching in time or did the friend received the message and read it? These questions are about to receive their answer as Facebook has just announced the availability of its Instant Messaging application for Android and iOS devices.

With Facebook Messenger users will be able to send instant messages that should reach their destination right away.

The new mobile application is separate from the usual Facebook client for Android, thus messages are delivered through notifications and texts.

The application can be used to send instant messages to contacts from the phonebook, but also to all friends that have a Facebook account.

According to the developers, the Instant Messaging app is an extension of Facebook messages, which means that all conversations are stored in one place, including texts, chats, emails and messages.

In addition, users will be able to quickly start a group conversation and message everyone at once with Facebook Messenger.

The application also allows user to add their location, so that their friends can find each other on the map much easier.

Some of the most important features of the Facebook Messenger include:

- Message friends, groups of friends or anyone in your mobile contacts; - Map your location, find your friends and make plans on the go; - Get mobile notifications so you never miss a message; - Include photos so friends can see what you're doing.

Facebook Messenger for Android is now available as a free download from Android Market and is compatible with all devices running Android 2.2 or higher.

The application is also compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad devices running iOS 4.0 or newer and can be downloaded from AppStore.
