A new version of Facebook for Android application was made available for users of handsets running under Google's mobile operating system.

The new Facebook for Android 1.5 application comes with real-time chat, so that one can stay closer to friends, as well as with push notifications for wall posts.

With the new version of the application, Android users are offered the possibility to chat in real time with their friends who are online.

The feature was already available for the users of the Facebook application on other mobile operating systems, such as Apple's iPhone, and now it is delivered to all those owning an Android-based device as well.

The addition of push notifications for new wall posts or direct messages is another appealing feature, as one won't have to check his / her account at all times to learn what's new.

In case there are some still unfamiliar with what the Facebook for Android application is all about, we should note that it offers users the possibility to stay connected and share information with friends pretty easily.

The software solution was released mainly so as to offer users the possibility to access their accounts on the popular social networking site much easier than before.

However, many new features and improvements have been added to the Facebook for Android mobile client, and the experience offered by the application was enhanced significantly.

The same as with accessing Facebook via a browser, the application enables users to share status updates, check on news, and more. One can share those updates straight from the homescreen of the mobile phone.

The application also enables users to view friends’ walls and user info, upload photos, share links, view videos, and do more.

Recently, the Facebook for Android application was updated with a series of fixes aimed at improving Places usage in non-English locales.

The new Facebook for Android 1.5 application is available for download via the Android Market. Existing users should receive notifications on the availability of the new version.
