14 DAY TRIAL // Recently, Evernote announced that Skitch will be integrated with their mobile application on Android devices, and the feature has just been made available for users via a new software update.
Evernote for Android was updated to version 3.2 and offers the owners of devices running under Google's mobile platform the possibility to use Skitch with Evernote.
The popular image annotation capabilities were included in the new application release, but they require for the Skitch app to be installed on the Android device as well.
When creating or editing an existing note, users will see the Skitch logo in the toolbar, and will be able to annotate images through clicking on it.
Some of the main features and functionalities the new Evernote for Android 3.2 brings along would include:
- Use Skitch with Evernote! - Launch a blank Skitch canvas from inside Evernote, then save your sketch into Evernote - Tap on an image in Evernote, send it into Skitch, annotate it, then save it back into Evernote - Search through notes stored on the device even without a network connection - Open images in Slideshow View - Move notes between notebooks - Save files attached to notes to your SD card - Shared Notebook invitations that arrive in email open in the Evernote app.
The application also comes with offline search for Premium users, which enables them even to search for PDF files that have been stored in Evernote.
The Evernote application is currently available for more platforms out there as well, including Mac, Windows, Android, iPhone, BlackBerry, webOS, or Windows Mobile. The company plans on adding the new functionality to the iOS application in the near future, along with the release of a Skitch app for the platform.
The new Evernote 3.2 application for Android can be downloaded from the Android Market here. As stated above, it requires the Skitch app to be installed as well. It is available as version 1.0.38 here. Both applications are free.
