A new flavor of Dolphin Browser is expected to become available in the near future, bringing a third dimension to an already popular application on devices running under Google's Android operating system.

The team behind the Dolphin Browser has just announced a collaboration with Softbank that will result in the release of a 3D Dolphin Browser.

The upcoming application will be loaded on the wireless carrier's first 3D phone, the SoftBank 009SH, which was meant to record content in 3D and also to display this content on its screen.

When released on this device, the 3D Dolphin Browser will include the appealing features that made it one of the most popular browsers on Android, along with some additional capabilities.

“Today Dolphin Browser joins forces with Japanese carrier Softbank for the its first ever 3D social phone,” the development team explains.

“This fancy phone, the 009SH, not only displays in 3D but can can also take 3D photos and is hard wired with Dolphin Browser’s social Add-ons such as Facebook, Twitter, Mixi, and Evernote.”

The mobile browser has recently reached 9 million downloads, an important milestone for the entire company, and is set to grow further more.

The availability of a new flavor of the browser will certainly help it gain more users, even if it will suffer a series of changes in the process, as the development team explains.

Dolphin Browser is going to transform the way people browse on the SoftBank 009SH phone,” says SoftBank Mobile Head of Product & Marketing Division Yukimasa Harada.

For the time being, however, the company would not offer specific info on what the Dolphin Browser with 3D capabilities might include, though more should become available soon.

Those who would like to try the currently available versions of the mobile browser will find it available in the Android Market. All they would have to do there is to search for Dolphin Browser.
